The devil, God’s adversary uses sin to separate us from God. “Enmity” exists between God and the devil. The Hebrew and Greek words for enmity stress strong opposition. Genesis 3:14-15; Romans 8:7; James 4:4
The devil’s motto reveals his sinful desire, he says, “GOOD IS EVIL AND EVIL IS GOOD”. His aim is to block us from seeing God. He wants to desecrate all systems of good so evil will prevail. Genesis 3:1-8; Luke 8:11-14; John 8:44; Acts 13:6-10; 2 Timothy 2:22-26; 1 John 3:8
The devil is purposely on the prowl wanting to ensnare all in sin. “From going to and fro on the earth…” he looks for his next victim. He is constantly “walking back and forth” and “seeking whom he may devour.”Job 1:7; 2:2; 1 Peter 5:8
The devil wants to alienate us from God with sin. He influenced some of the angels to leave heaven. He persuaded Eve to eat the forbidden fruit and used her to convince Adam to eat. He manipulated Cain to kill Abel. His deceptive seed has caused countless souls to be lost forever. Matthew 25:41; Jude 6; 1 Timothy 2:13-14; 1 John 3:11-12; Revelation 12:9, 20:11-15
The devil’s sinful agenda contradicts God’s agenda. God says, “Blessed are the poor in spirit…” the devil says, “Might makes right.” God says, “Blessed are those who mourn…” the devil says, “Only babies cry.” God says, “Blessed are the meek…” the devil says, “Meek is weak.” God says, “Blessed are those who hunger and thirst after righteousness…” the devil says, “Go for the gusto and sin, sin, sin!” God says, “Blessed are the merciful…” the devil says, “Forget mercy and get your revenge.” God says, “Blessed are the pure in heart…” the devil says, “Be hard hearted!” God says, “Blessed are the peacemakers…” the devil says, “War is profitable.” God says, “Blessed are those who are persecuted for righteousness sake…”The devil says, “Don’t be pushed around fight for your rights.” God says, “Blessed are you when they revile and persecute you, and say all kinds of evil against you falsely for My sake.” The devil says, “Join the good old boy club and get along with everyone because in the end we are all going to the same place.” Matthew 5:3-16; Luke 4:1-13; James 3:13-4:10; 1 Peter 1:13-2:5
God doesn’t want us to be blinded by sin. God wants us to prevail over the devil and in the end live with Him in heaven forever and that my friend is VISION 2020. Revelation 2:10
