Moses told the Israelites, “You shall not add to the word that I command you, nor take from it…”Deuteronomy 4:2

Moses and Jesus both taught, “That man does not live by bread alone, but man lives by every word that comes from the mouth of the Lord.” Deuteronomy 8:3; Matthew 4:4

Joshua was told, “This Book of the Law shall not depart from your mouth, but you shall meditate on it all day and night, so that you may be careful to do according to all that is written in it. For then you will make your way prosperous, and then you will have good success.”  Joshua 1:8

The Psalmist teaches that God’s, “Word is a lamp to our feet and a light to ourpath.”

Psalm 119:105.”

Solomon declared that, “Every word of God is true; He is a shield to those who take refuge in Him. Do not add to His word, lest He rebuke you and you be found a liar.” Proverbs 30:5-6

Jesus taught that, “If we abide in His word, we would truly be His disciples, and we would know the truth, and the truth would set us free.” John 8:31

The Greek word for “Abide” is meno and it means to stay or to stick to it.

The Greek word for “Truth” is aletheia and it means true; truly the truth, nothing but the truth.

God’s Word is absolute Truth for God “Never lies.” Titus 1:2

Our plea should echo that of the Psalmist, “Make me know Your ways, O Lord; Teach me Your paths. Lead me in Your truth and teach me, for You are the God of my salvation; for You I wait all the day long.” Psalms 25:4-5

We can put our trust in the Lord for “His truth endures to all generations.”

“Buy the truth, and do not sell it, Also wisdom and instruction and understanding.”

“The Word became flesh and dwelt among us” so we could know the “truth.”

“He who does the truth comes to the light, that his deeds may be clearly seen…”

“Everyone who is of the truth hears My voice.”

We should heed good advice from the writer of the book of Proverbs and if need arises we should, “Buy the truth, and do not sell it…” Proverbs 23:23

If we truly long for a full and abundant life we will FULLY RELY ON GOD’S WORD!

When we give God’s Word our SUPREME LOYALTY IT WILL ENABLE US TO PUT ALL OTHER LOYALTIES IN PERSPECTIVE.

DON’T MAKE GOD’S WORD THE LAST RESORT, BUT PUT IT FIRST IN LIFE!

“Seek first the kingdom of God and His righteousness,

And all these things will be added to you.”

Matthew 6:33
