God’s, “Divine power has granted to us all things that pertain to LIFE AND GODLINESS, through the knowledge of Him who called us to His own glory and excellence, by which He has granted to us His precious and very great promises, so that through them you may become partakers of the divine nature, having escaped from the corruption that is in the world because of sinful desire. 2 Peter 1:3-4
GOD MADE US SO WE COULD HAVE “LIFE.”
He gave us His “the breath of life.” Genesis 2:5-7
What is it that constitutes “life”?
Ronald Knox said: “Life is seen in organized bodies only, and it is in living bodies that organization is seen.”
It has also been said: “Life is experienced by growing and reproducing.”
Others have said: “Life is to be active, lively, vivacious, and full of vigor!”
What does the Bible teach us about “life”?
It teaches us that “LIFE” is far more than our mere physical existence.
Matthew 6:25; Luke 12:15-21; Romans 8:1-10
It teaches us that along with our body we have a soul and spirit. 1 Thessalonians 5:23
The greatest thing that that Bible teaches us about our “LIFE” is that we will live eternally!
John 3:16, 5:24; Romans 6:23; 1 John 5:13
GOD MADE US SO WE COULD LIVE A LIFE OF “GODLINESS.”
It has been well said: “Godliness” is the sum total of religious character and actions, and produces both a present and future state of happiness.”
“Godliness” is more than right action out of duty, but it is virtuous living produced by faith, love and trusting Jesus as the true example of “LIFE AND GODLINESS.” John 14:6
“Godliness is of value in every way, as it holds promise for the present life and also for the life to come.” 1 Timothy 4:7-8
Simply put, when “godliness” is absent from a person’s life, their life is void of the true abundant life that Jesus came to lead us into. John 10:7-10
“LIFE AND GODLINESS” AWAIT ALL OF US WITH GOD!
Don’t waste your “life.”
Don’t avoid “godliness.”
Discover the value of both by learning about them from God’s word.
Peter makes it very clear that they both are a result of “KNOWLEDGE.”
This should thrill every one of us just as it did the apostle Paul when he discovered that he could “KNOW” Jesus Christ as his Savior.
1 Timothy 1:12-17; 2 Timothy 1:8-14
