Some may consider this article to be hateful and if that is the case I offer no apology! Those who should apologize are those who are neglecting the Lord’s work!

God didn’t create mankind to be idle, He didn’t make us too sit around doing nothing. Genesis 2:15 says, “The Lord God took the man and put him in the garden of Eden to WORK IT AND KEEP IT.” Adam was working before the fall!

Some advocate that because we are saved by “GRACE” we don’t need to WORK this is not taught in Ephesians 2:8-10 “For by grace you have saved through faith. And this is not a your own doing; it is the gift of God, not a result of works, so that no one may boast. For we are His workmanship, created in Christ Jesus for GOOD WORKS, which God prepared beforehand that we should WALK IN THEM.”

Take a trip through the “Hall of faith” in Hebrews 11 and you will clearly find that those who believed in God demonstrated their faith by their WORK.

What about the simple test of logic in James 2:18? “Someone will say, “You have faith and I have WORKS.” Show me your faith apart from your WORKS, and I will show you my faith by my WORKS.”

WHAT ABOUT IT, ARE YOU SHOWING YOUR FAITH BY YOUR WORK?

We are very fortunate to have many members who are active workers for the Lord. Because of your willingness to WORK we are able to have a place to attend, to have Bible class teachers, to share fellowship meals with one another, to provide items for our giveaway, to encourage our HUA youth, to conduct our worship. Because of your willingness to WORK we can keep our building and grounds presentable and run the vans to pick up others. Because of your willingness to WORK we can support our mission partners and have our booth at community venues. Your willingness to WORK is a wonderful testimony of your faith!

We are blessed to have many who are actively involved in the WORK but we still need more. Jesus Himself said, “The harvest is plentiful, but the laborers are few. Therefore pray earnestly to the Lord of the harvest to send out laborers into His harvest.” Luke 10:2

As we make it our aim to FOCUS ON JESUS we will unapologetically hold up the sign HELP WANTED and pray that more will become actively involved in the Lord’s WORK!
