As the God—man, fully God and fully man, His life is marked by striking contrasts that reflect His genuine humanity and His full deity. Let’s consider some of these contrasts so we can gain a greater concept about His uniqueness.

He, who is the bread of life and yet He knew what it was like to be hungry for bread!

“I am the bread of Life.” John 6:48

“Then Jesus was led up by the Spirit into the wilderness to be tempted by the devil.

And when He had fasted forty days and forty nights, afterward He was hungry.” Matthew 4:1-2

He. who is the water of life and yet He knew what it was like to be thirsty.

“A woman came from Samaria to draw water, Jesus said to her, Give Me a drink.” John 4:7

“Jesus stood up and cried out, “If anyone thirsts, let him come to Me and drink. Whoever believes in Me, as the Scripture has said, ‘Out of his heart will flow living water.” John 7:37-38

“I thirst!”John 19:28

He told others to come to Him for rest and yet He knew what it was like to be weary.

“Come to Me, all you who labor and are heavy laden, and I will give you rest.” Matthew 11:28

“Foxes have holes and birds of the air have nests, But the Son of Man has nowhere to lay His head.” Matthew 8:20

He paid tribute to Caesar Matthew 22:15-22 yet He is the King of Kings. Revelation 19:6

He was called a devil and yet He cast out demons. Matthew 12:22-30

He prayed Luke 22:41-42 and yet we are taught to pray in His name and He will. John 14:14

He wept John 11:35 and yet He is able to wipe away every tear. Revelation 21:4

He was sold for thirty pieces of silver Matthew 26:15 and yet He can redeem us from all our sin. “Behold! The Lamb of God who takes away the sins of the world!” John 1:29

He was led as a lamb to the slaughter Isaiah 53:7 and yet He is the Good Shepherd.

“I am the good shepherd. The good shepherd gives His life for the sheep.” John 10:11

He came to give His life John 10:18 so we could have life through His death.

“Most assuredly, I say unto you, unless a grain of wheat falls into the ground and dies,

It remains alone; but if it dies, it produces much grain.” John 12:24

JESUS! The Son of God and the son of man! All glory to Jesus, begotten of God, the great I Am is He; Creator, provider, sustainer and wonder of all, THE LAMB OF CALVARY!
