“BE THANKFUL”
The grace of thankfulness diligently cultivated is one of the secrets to true happiness.
It is not the happy people who are thankful; it is the thankful people who are happy.
Colossians 3:12-15
HOW DO YOU DEFINE THANKFULNESS?
It is more than duty or obligation, it is attitude and a way of life; it is THANKS—LIVING!
2 Corinthians 9:10-15
JESUS IS OUR EXAMPLE OF THANKFULNESS.
Jesus did not go through life brooding, complaining, and demanding but thanking.
Jesus was thankful for God’s simple plan, daily provisions, providence and power.
Matthew 11:25-30; 15:32-39; 26:26-30; John 11:38-44
“THANK” AND “THINK” COME FROM THE SAME ROOT.
We need only to think in order to be thankful.
She only had two teeth, one lower and one upper, and thank God they met!
WE HAVE REASON TO “BE THANKFUL.”
“There is never a day so dreary nor an hour so filled with despair, that help is not ours for the asking if we knock at heavens portal in prayer. At the moment we ask, He will answer, He is never asleep or away. He doesn’t remove every burden but He always gives us strength for the day. He doesn’t say life will be painless, that we’ll never grow tired or grieve but He promises rest for the weary and comfort to all who believe. His grace is always sufficient, in our weakness He helps us to stand and problems and trials are lighter when we know He is holding our hand.”
WHAT ARE YOU ESPECIALLY THANKFUL FOR?
Daily food, family, friends, happy homes, health, etc. are the usual answers.
“I’m thankful for all of these and everything else God has done for me and everyone else, not only today but all during the year.”
