Hug your kids! Kids need hugs! There are far too many disappointments, hurts and short comings in life and just like you they bother kids so give them a hug. We can all use a hug. One of the great joys of being a family is holding one another in our arms and giving each other a big bear hug. So make every day a family reunion at your home. So hug your kids and kids hug your parents! Don’t take one another for granted give each other hugs and let each other know that you are special to one another!

“Even a child is known by his deeds, whether what he does is pure and right.”Proverbs 20:11

So teach your child the difference, but don’t just tell them do it by example. Young people are looking for someone to follow as their hero so why not let it be you!

“Let your children come to Jesus and do not hinder them…” Matthew 19:14

Let your youngster know about Jesus by leading them to Him and don’t be the hypocrite that stands in their way!

Pass on their praise. Pull out those pictures and let others know that they are the pride of your life! They may blush but deep down inside they will know that you love them and that you are proud of them and is one thing that matters a lot to a youngster. So pass on your praise for them. Proverbs 27:2, 21

Include your youngsters in your life and be involved in theirs. Don’t let anything isolate you from one another. The statement “No man is an island” should certainly be true for a family. As family members we should desire intimate relationships with each other. Children and parents need one another. Ephesians 6:1-4; 1 Timothy 5:1-8

Nurture your kids. Bring them up. Do all you can to help them develop and grow healthy and strong mentally, physically and spiritually. Help them with their education and encourage them. Feed, protect, support and train them for life.

If a child lives with criticism what should we expect when they grow up? If a child lives with hostility what should we expect when they grow up? If a child lives with fear what should we expect when they grow up? If a child lives with encouragement what can we expect when they grow up? If a child lives with praise what can we expect when they grow up? If a child lives with love what can we expect when they grow up?

“Train up a child in the way he should go…” Proverbs 22:6

Give your youngsters goals. When they are inspired to aspire for a worthy objective they will step up to the challenge if motivated in positive ways and this is what “Youth Challenge” is all about. The purpose is to help our young people have a clearer perception of VISION 2020!
