After God cleansed the earth with the flood and gave mankind another opportunity to live in harmony with Him Noah offered sacrifices to God in thanksgiving, “The Lord smelled the pleasing aroma, the Lord said in His heart, “I will never again curse the ground because of man, for the intentions of his heart is evil from his youth.” Genesis 8:21

Solomon wrote, “What has been is what will be, and what has been done is what will be done, and there is nothing new under the sun…” Ecclesiastes 1:9

CONSIDER SOME ABC’S OF YOUTH CHALLENGES.  

Apathy: Having no concern, emotion or interest in anything.

Bullying: Coercing, harming, and intimidating others who are vulnerable.

Choices: Making a decision.

Disparities: handling differences.

Envy: Discontent and resentfulness toward others.

Fussing: Restless and unsatisfied.

Hating: dislike in a very intense way.

Insufficiency: Feeling inadequate.

Killings: Causing the death deliberately.

Loneliness: Feeling friendless and isolated with no one to trust.

Materialism: Putting material things above everyone and everything.   

Neglectfulness: Carelessness, sloppiness and slothfulness.

Offensiveness: Being disgusting, distasteful and repulsive. 

Peer pressure: Being influenced by peers.

Quarreling: Arguing and disagreeing.

Ridicule: Contemptuous and dismissive behavior or language.

Sensuality: Being dazzled by sexuality.

Tension: Stressed out.

Untruths: False statements and lies.

Vices: Immoral behavior.

Wickedness: Being evil and morally wrong.

eXaminations: A detailed inspection or investigation of one’s choices.

Yammering: Whimpering and whining!

Zigzagging: Going in all directions and never getting anywhere.This list isn’t based on scientific surveys. It is a simple observation of things through time that have been seen to challenge youth. Solomon wrote about these youth challenges in Ecclesiastes and he identified them as “Vanity”. He also used his God given wisdom to offer a solution so we could avoid them and obtain VISION 2020! Ecclesiastes 11:9-12:1
