DON’T LET THE BLINDNESS OF SIN KEEP YOU FROM HEAVEN!

Sin is not our friend! Sin cost our first parents their home in paradise and it brought grave repercussions to life.

Genesis 3 teaches that once Adam and Eve ate of the forbidden fruit they had to leave Eden. Along with leaving this paradise home they would now encounter great hardship. Childbearing would now be painful and unpleasant. Instead of reigning as queen in life women would now find themselves in the station of servants. Things were not any better form the men. The ground would be cursed and work would be a toilsome task. Thorns and thistles would make tasks far more difficult. Sweat rolling down ones brow would become the norm for survival. Eating dust would become a daily menu item leading up to the point when one would be buried in it. Genesis 3:17-19

Sin is not our friend! Sin causes family breakdowns and breakups. It causes parents to reject their children and children to reject their parents. It causes siblings to attack one another instead of standing by and up for one another. Rivalry, jealousy, envy leading to murder came forth because of sin. Genesis 4:1-8 Sin is the cause of the dysfunctional home. In a lot of situations the finger is pointed at alcoholism, drug addiction, financial stress, in-law problems, but the true core of the afflictions we face in our homes is sin.

Sin is not our friend! The problems faced by nations that brings about division and unrest isn’t bigotry, economics, or racism it is sin. “Righteousness exalts a nation, but sin is a reproach to any people.” Proverbs 13:34

Sin is not our friend! When I hear people cry out about climate change and how it is going to be our ruin if we don’t do something about using fossil fuel I want to clear the air with the truth that our end will not be brought about by the car we drive or don’t drive but how much sin is effecting our environment and everything else. Romans 8:18-24

Sin is not our friend! I could go on and on but the greatest tragedy of all is that sin will keep us from heaven. I know that some people say that their life here is like living in hell but based on the teachings found in God’s Holy Word it doesn’t have to be that way. I’m not going to tell you that you won’t have trials and tribulation because you will, but I will tell you that there is someone who can be trusted to make things a lot better if you will follow Him and when you do He will guide you to His a heavenly dwelling place and He should know because it is His home. By accepting His invitation in John 14:1-3 we acknowledge that we have VISION 2020!
