To accomplish this we must be “Brave and courageous.”
To be “Brave” means to be, “Without fear; having courage; showing courage.”
To be “Courageous” means, “To meet danger without fear, to be bold, daring, dauntless, hardy, heroic, intrepid, and valiant.”
There are many great examples in the Bible who demonstrate these qualities but one really stands out throughout his entire life and that is Joshua.
His name originally was Hoshea/Oshea, meaning “Salvation.”
He was and Ephraimite, the son of Nun from the lineage of Joseph.
He was born while the Israelites were in Egyptian captivity.
He was one of the twelve spies sent out to scout the promise land and only one of two who returned with a favorable report and because of this he was granted entrance into the Canaan land.
He was a soldier appointed by Moses to be a commander.
Moses changed his name to Jehoshua/Joshua meaning “Jehovah is salvation.”
He attended to Moses and in time became his apprentice and his successor.
Moses gave him a charge “Be strong and of good courage…” Deuteronomy 31:7, 23
When Moses died he was the one chosen to lead God’s people into the Promised Land.
The Lord God gave him the charge to “Be strong and of good courage…” Joshua 1:6
The Lord told him “Be strong and very courageous, that you may observe to do according to all the law which Moses My servant commanded you; do not turn to the right hand or to the left, that you may prosper wherever you may go.” Joshua 1:7
The Lord God stressed to him “Have I not commanded you? Be strong and of good courage, do not be afraid, nor be ashamed, for the Lord your God is with you wherever you go.” Joshua 1:9
If we will be brave and courageous God’s presences has been promised to us.
‘“For He Himself has said, “I will never leave you nor forsake you.” Hebrews 13:5
