Don’s Delivery: THE POWER OF GOD’S PROPHETS!
Many people underestimate the power of God today but I wonder if they
would if they really knew His real power. One way that we can witness
His power is through His prophets of old and one of those prophets who
stood out is Elijah. His name in the Hebrew language is, e-li-ja and
it means, “My God is Jehovah.”
Elijah spoke out against Ahab’s apostasy because he believed in the
power of God. 1 Kings 17:1
Elijah aided the widow of Zarepath with an endless supply of
provisions because God’s power worked through him. 1 Kings 17:8-16
Elijah restored this widows son when he became severely ill because
God’s power enabled him to do so. 1 Kings 17:17-23
Elijah was noted as, “A man of God” and a spokesman of God’s word
because God’s power was clearly with him. 1 Kings 17:24
Elijah was respected by all of Gods prophets because they knew that
God worked through him to demonstrate His power. 1 Kings 18:5-7
Elijah was carried by the spirit of God from one location to another
because God’s power was with him. 1 Kings 18:12
Elijah was not ashamed to be known as a “Troubler” because he knew the
power of God’s truth was on his side. 1 Kings 18:17-18
Elijah was not intimidated by superior odds (450 against 1) because he
knew the power of God stood with him. 1 Kings 18:19
Elijah was humored when he watched the false prophets of Baal dance,
holler, jump and slash themselves as they cried out to their little,
pitiful make believe god to no avail because he knew the true and
living God’s power was on his side. 1 Kings 18:20-29
Elijah knew the power of God available to him and he had the altar
rebuilt, the sacrifice put in place, and water poured upon until
everything was practically floating before he called on God to consume
it because he had absolute confidence in the ability of God’s awesome
power. 1 Kings 18:30-39
Don’t underestimate God’s power! Learn from His prophets the true
nature of His power for nothing is impossible for God. Matthew 19:26
