$245,000 is the estimated cost to raise a child today. It figures out to be
$13,611.00 a year for eighteen years. No, it does not include college.

Now, This is just the amount that is estimated to be spent on one
child. If you have two this amount will be doubled and so on. If a
family has four or more children it could cost them well over a
million dollars to raise their children.

Now, What is all this money going to be spent on? Have a baby and you
will find out in a hurry! Bottles, Diapers, Formula, Health Care, Life
Insurance, Presents, etc it all adds up real fast.
What about babysitters, Day Care, Preschool, Trips to the doctor. Once
they start school there are more cost in addition to their clothes,
food and roof over their head. It isn’t long until they are involved
with little league, possible scouting or other interest. There will be
field trips and fund raising for their classes. I always hated it when
our boys came home with those candy bars, I ate more than we sold, so
who do you think had to pay for them!

Now, We haven’t even made it out of elementary grades and the cost
seems enormous! Once they enter junior high and high school you better
have a money tree growing in your backyard.
Anyone who has a child or who has had children knows there is a
tremendous cost. But it is far more than dollars and cents. There’s a
lot more involved in raising children. There are emotions, loads of
love, sweat and tears. A child’s raising can’t be evaluated by
monetary means. There is no way to keep track of all the time invested
in raising a child so they can be healthy, knowledgeable, and prepared
for life. There is far too much at stake not to invest your all as a
parent in raising your child.

Now, As we are giving our all and going in a million directions at a
non stop pace let’s make sure we do our best to teach them about the
love of Jesus and His plan for their eternal life.

Don’t neglect Bible Study. Bring your children to Bible Class.
